FRONT PORCH

The Front Porch, comprising four Baldwin Wallace College teachers (from left, Mark Mattern, Steve Hollender, Kelly Coble and Beth Hiser), has been forging its own brand of traditional music since about 2003, and it is finding broad appeal. The band plays standards like the mountain ballad �Old Joe Clark� and �Wildwood Flower,� made famous by the Carter family. Front Porch also brings a staple of original music to shows, much of it composed by Hollender, though all members contribute writing. Don�t be surprised by an occasional curveball, though. Front Porch recently introduced a Beatles tune to its repertoire.
